AERI'S PIANO STUDIO

 At the Studio

Students are expected to arrive on time with all their materials and music. Please pick up student(s) in a timely manner.


Practice and Instrument:  

Private students are expected to practice daily on a well-maintained piano. Acoustic pianos are always the best choice. Well build digital piano is okay for the beginners.  Parents are responsible for scheduling practice at home, optimally 4-7 days per week.                     


Calendar and Schedule

The tuition rates are determined based on a calendar of 30 lessons during the school year (September – May) and summer lessons will be arranged by appointments. The teacher does not teach during the week of Thanksgiving, Winter break, Spring break. All other holidays (Labor Day, Good Friday, etc.) will have regular lessons.  Any additional holidays will be notified.

Makeup Lessons


* Only one makeup lesson is open per month.

Due to the teacher's limited availability, makeup lessons cannot be guaranteed. However, if an absence arises due to unforeseen situations such as an accident or family emergency and if the student indicates a desire for a makeup lesson, the teacher will make an effort to accommodate a makeup.

Please be courteous to the teacher and fellow students by notifying the teacher at least 24 hours in advance regarding any known upcoming absences.  


Tuition and Payment:      

Invoices will be provided: the student is responsible for delivering tuition. Late payments will incur a late fee of $1 for each day late. Tuition will not be credited to next month. Make up lesson will be available for missed lesson. The teacher reserves the right to raise fees at the beginning of each academic year.

Tuition may be paid via cash, check, or electronically (using your bank’s online bill pay)

<LESSON SCHEDULE>


  • Weekly lessons are available in Private 30 minutes, 45 minutes.

  • Semi private lessons are available in 45 minutes and 60 minutes - have more benefits of piano lab time and theory time in studio.

  • Lessons are comprehensive, focusing on the development of pianistic technique while utilizing a variety of musical genres, sight-reading, lead sheets/improvisation, as well including general music theory including ear training exercises and music appreciation activities to aid the student in becoming a well-rounded musician. Use of technology and games is often included within the lesson.

 

<MATERIALS>
As a convenience to students, as needed, all materials (repertoire books, theory books, technique books, supplemental sheet music, flash cards,etc. will be purchased by the teacher.

This amount will be reflected in the monthly invoice as a “materials fee.”

 

<TUITION/FEES>

For ease of billing tuition is divided equally into 12 monthly payments as follows:

The monthly amount is the same regardless of the number of lessons which occur in any given month. 

 

Payment is due by 10th of the month, after which a $25 late fee will be added.  Students should expect a yearly increase in tuition appropriate to the cost of living increases, expenses, and services offered.

Recitals and other events:            

A student recital is offered in May. Recital participation is optional; however, the recital fee is mandatory for each year. Only currently enrolled students are allowed to participate in recital, festivals and other events. Various events are available in greater Austin area throughout the year.

Summer Months:

During the summer months, private students are expected to continue taking lessons. 

Discontinuing Lessons:
Decision is made thoughtfully with plenty of discussion between the teacher, parent, and student so that lessons can cease with a positive sense of closure.  For this reason, the teacher asks for 30days notice prior to discontinuing lessons. 

 Note: At the discretion of the teacher, students may be dismissed at any time if they have unpaid tuition, an excess amount of absences/unprepared lessons, or if they show a lack of interest.                                  

 Parent Participation

 Parents are encouraged to be supportive and actively participate in practice at home. Parents are also   encouraged to attend and quietly observe lessons once a month or more.                          


 Permission:
 Aeri Kim piano studio is hereby granted permission to take photographs and videos of students to use in online   and printed promotional materials.  Last names are never published.  If you would not like for your child’s     pictures to be used in our materials, please inform the teacher.
